All contrarianism eventually gets commodified and turned into orthodoxy. If school dropouts and entrepreneurs became the status quo of Silicon Valley, what will the next wave of contrarianism here look like?

My money (pun intended) is on rejection of unicorn seeking venture capitalists in favor of bootstrap/slow growth/crowdfunding. VC money makes everyone think in terms of gangbusters ROI, there’s 10,000 viable bootstrap zebras for every VC unicorn.
Yes! I do think (/hope) there's a coming boom in people who *could* make $200-300k/year as a well-placed cog making a somewhat-riskier ~$200-1000k on bootstrapped ventures that reach niche markets with products that don't necessarily scale outside that purview.
