There are doctors out there trying to change the system to make it work for their patients and themselves without bankrupting either party. It's a huge endeavor tho. The medical industry is incredibly complex and powerful, but there are pockets of hope.
Lost in the hyperpartisan vote-hawking is the fact that regulatory capture & systemic cost disease are the crux of all this. Private insurance markets vs. single-payer is a distraction. The pipelines for new providers *and* entrepreneurs in healthcare are fundamentally broken.
As within all broken systems, there are good people doing what they can from within — but w/o a serious systemic look at the regulatory environment we've created and the tradeoffs we're making, it only means that some patients will get lucky & the good docs will be overburdened.
I agree with much of what you say. However, I don't see a political path forward to fix what actually needs fixing. Those in the decision making process are the ones making money off the brokenness. Doctors and patients are going to have to do the heavy lifting on this imo.
