The crucial point is that having & insisting on *good* community- and society-level preferences — ones that broadly err toward liberty & human welfare — is what enables groups to accept people who are *otherwise* quite different from current members without anxiety & resentment

Literally no one believes that having society-level preferences is bad. Thinking multiculturalism is good != full cultural relativism, and pretty much the only people who equate those ideas are white supremacists like Molyneux who are scared of Muslim immigrants
