Regarding plummeting marriage/sex rates, any hypos as to why this is occurring? On an int level, I often feel that our recent sedentary lifestyle kills those natural drives. We spent eons as highly physical hunter-bots, and now we spend our time staring into glowing rectangles.

It wasn't until 50-100 years ago that a large portion of the population were having children for cheap labor? When it's more costly to have children than the potential returns, I think high-achieving persons are less likely to have children.

I think your love line is spot on. It's hard to identify where young peoples' cynicism about love comes from, but a lack of strong models from family and early life relationships seems key. Many just seem to not believe romantic love is possible. But how new is that?
