A lot of opportunistic pathogens that can afflict people with reduced immunity are ubiquitous (everywhere), particularly yeast and molds. This new strain is a problem, but likely not on anywhere near a scale as implied in the article.

I think antimicrobial stewardship is important, but just that numbers regarding the scope of problems like this can be inflated (and academics are largely to blame for this, not journalists).

I think it's critical to cite whatever it is you object to *fairly* and to give reasons for your criticisms. There's unfortunately a cynical antisocial intellectualism infecting social media and I'm frankly sick of watching this cheap hand be played.
