Free high-upside B2B start-up idea: an IQ test creatively reskinned to look like literally anything except an IQ test, sold to recruiters + hiring departments

Does IQ correlate strongly enough with real-world performance for it to be a viable metric? Isn’t past projects, even if done in a basement for practice, a much better and easier to implement metric?
-
IQ correlates well w/ certain kinds of ability that are broadly useful in white collar work at the population level, but lacks precision at the individual level. IMO: it's a useful early filter, but it would be dumb to base decisions on IQ by the time you're looking at portfolios

Those are not a good proxy for IQ, and indeed, IQ is not the only factor that matters in employment.

IQ tests are still a proxy. They’re just testing a certain species of knowledge...which anyone can learn. Like the tests one passes to get those uni credentials. So it’s a value judgement what type of learnable-knowledge (all knowledge is learnable of course) one wants to test.

These demonic tests also have the unintended consequence of reducing the self-esteem of those who perform poorly on them. But life and its problems are open-ended, someone should tell them! One cannot know a priori which skills will be useful, or which problems will arise.

Definitely fanciness of educational background has lost a LOT of esteem recently. This actually seems like a legitimately good idea for a business soln.

I looked at their website and found it quite unwieldy, esp for a tech co. Maybe they have something. But really, it seems like most cos need to replace trad resumes and interviews w/ skills tests.

What you want is high IQ + low neuroticism.
