To be clear, I do believe it's a thing now, based on people's testimony. I just wish I understood which demographics/domains have it, since it seems so rare in my own corners of the world.

Sure; I was inferring what @jbrydle meant from the examples he gave throughout the thread, of the kind of "breaking things" he wanted society to caution people against more.

But I also think that mostly, you and @Jbrydle are talking about somewhat different things; he's focused more on "Should we add more stigma to unethical behavior done in the name of ambition" and you're focused more on "Do we discourage people from trying ambitious hard things?"
