I honestly didn't believe this was a thing when I first heard about it (from an Aussie). My impression is that having ambitious plans is much more likely to win you social approval than scorn. (And at worst, people are too polite to say they think you're gonna fail)

To be clear, I do believe it's a thing now, based on people's testimony. I just wish I understood which demographics/domains have it, since it seems so rare in my own corners of the world.
The US has aggregated the vast majority of these “hyper-driven” people & imo it should be very clear that there aren’t nearly enough of them
