IDK. I think we underestimate the seriousness of free speech dissonance from tech platform leaders. This shit is hard. I don't like how he ran Twitter early on but he gets my sympathy here.
We can't have a real conversation about these tradeoffs because we *think* we're already having it —but there's nothing honest about this. Jack is not responsible for every awful thing anyone says, he has not done a terrible job, and it's not clear at all what should be done.

I think it's true that for a long while Twitter did not put enough resources into community monitoring, abuse prevention, etc. I think he's right to admit that mistake specifically. Agree he's not responsible for every awful thing though.
