When I hear language like that from CEOs, I translate it as <<I recognize that this is the only permitted answer>> Which I can't really blame them for? ie, I feel like that's the only way of declining to have an impossible argument. I don't know what else they're supposed to do.

IDK. I think we underestimate the seriousness of free speech dissonance from tech platform leaders. This shit is hard. I don't like how he ran Twitter early on but he gets my sympathy here.

We can't have a real conversation about these tradeoffs because we *think* we're already having it —but there's nothing honest about this. Jack is not responsible for every awful thing anyone says, he has not done a terrible job, and it's not clear at all what should be done.
