At org level there is seldom much benefit to saving money; I hear a lot from multiple friends in multiple orgs that they have to use up the budget they are allotted and don’t get anything if they don’t spend it
-
At individual & household levels, there’s always marketing in your face that’s selling you the promise of a happier higher-status life if you just buy the next better thing. IMO this is why wealthy ppl seldom think of themselves as wealthy (bc they always know ppl 10x wealthier)

Not sure there’s a common reason for all three. At the org level a department has to spend their budget in order to justify getting the same amount or more the next year.

Mason, I'm reading this tweet at about 9:30 AM PST. It's a great tweet, like most of your tweets. But it's made at 5AM PST, and your other tweets at perhaps 2AM PST. If you are on PST, you have become quite the late night philosopher. I hope you get enough sleep !!

It’s hard to be satisfied with little. But it’s impossible to be so with much.
