I dunno. Maybe concealed carry for certain individuals who can demonstrate a great deal of experience + exceptional judgment. You don’t want schools that look & feel like prisons, which is what we’re trending toward w/ metal detectors, conspicuous cameras + armed guards
But frankly, school shootings are still exceedingly rare, and arming people who may be spending the school day with impulsive, impaired or troubled children who are in some cases capable of overpowering them does not strike me as necessarily beneficial on net
Kids attacking and overpowering teachers rarely happens. And those kids get expelled, or should get expelled, quite quickly. Carrying a pistol on a locked hip holster with the safety engaged and the chamber empty prevents most accidents - security guards actually do this.
The schools do look more and more like prisons, and the barbed wire and lockdowns don't help either. School facilities, and transport to and from those facilities, also expends enormous resources. Probably time to replace K-12 with home/neighborhood school.
