Why is this worse with age?
Aging gametes seem spell trouble for healthy cell division, though I don't know the mechanism. Using frozen "young" eggs or donor eggs eliminates the risk, even at an advanced maternal age

Are there benign chromosomal abnormalities? If so, these figures might overstate the risk if chromosal abnormality doesn’t necessarily present in a way that material affects life chances. Any data on this?

not sure what you mean by “benign chromosomal abnormalities.” generally an aneuploid egg has three fates: it doesn’t fertilize (most common), it doesn’t develop properly (sometimes resulting in miscarriage), or more rarely an issue like Down syndrome
