I agree and love this take (great answer to Peter’s fave question btw) but why older men? Shouldn’t this apply to both men and women? If I had to do it again, I would have had kids at 18 or 22.

I assume the idea is that it's preferable for the man to have time to develop a stable medium- to high-income career so the household won't necessarily be inexorably dependent on two full-time incomes But I think there are a lot of good reasons for men to have kids younger, too

I'm solidly in "you do you" territory in the end, but breastfeeding is unquestionably the best default option, both for the nutritional benefits & the increasingly well-evidenced impact on bonding
