Mothers aged 35+ account for almost half of the births in SF (vs. 26.3% for CA overall) These geriatric pregnancies are at a higher risk for premature birth, low birth weight & birth defects, all of which are associated with lower IQs & other poor developmental outcomes

Those stats for Down syndrome, which is the most common disorder resulting from a chromosomal abnormality. Not all of them are as easy to study, which is why it's often used as a reference for understanding relative risk. Here are 150+ more: https://rarediseases.info.nih.gov/diseases/diseases-by-category/36/chromosome-disorders …

Thankfully it's a screenable one, at least. Also, I was surprised to learn that paternal age is now thought to contribute around 50% of chromosomal risk in these 40+ maternal age pregnancies; the maternal odds we have are likely tainted by men being older: https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2015/11/genetic-screening-down-syndrome-fathers/415320/ …

Coincidentally, I saw a graph of the age of a man vs the age of women he finds most attractive. Almost all men of all ages were most attracted to women aged 20-25. Cultural influence or just nature being nature?

This is dated now, but I read once the biologically ideal age for a human mother is 17. At that age, the female has fully developed physically and also has the lowest probability of birth defects.

That's peak fecundity. Peak fertility is mid-twenties.

From 2014 data: % of San Francisco births from mothers aged 30+ was 75%. If you constrained to college educated though, it jumped to 88%!! I wonder how far past 90% we are in 2019… /cc @sovereignfamily Source: https://www.sfdph.org/dph/files/MCHdocs/Epi/Updates12132016/SF-BirthsDataBrief2014Table_1_12-12-2016.pdf …pic.twitter.com/2vY0GRUyg0

This is solid evidence that women should not go to college.

Mostly it’s because of brainwashing. Your grandparents likely had much less when they had you.
