The fact that everyone agrees these policies are dumb — they’re either too soft on the bad guys, or too quick to appease arbitrary mobs — is probably not actually a terrible thing. It means they’re utterly at the mercy of their consumers

Hmmmm...I think that private entities which have disproportionate market share (bottlenecks) should be constrained from granting arbitrary access. Might have similarities to Rockefeller and the Railroads

If Facebook, Youtube/Google, and Twitter really do start to bottleneck a significant portion of the sum total potential internet audience, a competitor will arise and capitalize on the opportunity. Only govt monopolies persist beyond market demand. Thus prevent socialism !!

But seriously...if we agree that YouTube et al can be defined as bottlenecks to the public...and we agree that a media business is dependent on same...they can have disproportionate impact on outcomes.
