Often the central complaint of markets + democracy is that the wealthy buy too much power/get sweetheart deals from gov; what is never explained is how a government complicit in such things will function better once it is simply given all the tesources without any of the strings.
If I detest what one does with their aggregated wealth, I can extract myself from future transactions beneficial to them & encourage others to join me; I may fail to persuade, but I’m free to try. Government is the exception, which is why it ought to be under the highest scrutiny
Another complaint is that wealth is not created but distributed. It's the reason why the wealthy are seen as thieves. Yet the opposite is true: we all profit from wealthy people. If anything, we should want more of them around to make us cool and better stuff.
When people complain about capitalism, often the things they complain about flow from corruption, not free markets. They don’t consider that an all powerful state might (would) be more corrupt.

I'm curious about Monaco, but if I take capitalism to mean 'the thing they have in America's rather than 'the thing Marx complained about', no I don't think it improves global poverty. Credit for that mostly goes to China, which has lots of markets and calls itself 'Communism'.
It’s always seemed obvious to me that the solution is for the government to have fewer favours to sell, fewer contacts to award, less money to spend.
A profit incentive motivates different actions than the incentive of working for re-election. Some would argue that the actions that maximize profit for a given industry aren't as in-line with the public good as the actions that maximize votes for a gvmt controlling an industry
