BUT, how do you KNOW that a mere vet student can handle the problem. The whole point of the science of diagnosis is that an apparently simple problem could actually reveal a very serious injury. Also $100/HR actually is dirt cheap for your health and life.
Model S has the highest safety rating of any car on the market. Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death for my demo. I still can’t afford one, and the government shouldn’t make me buy one if I need to drive. If I have an ear infection, I do not want to see Dr. House.

okay, you make a good point about the absurd cost of govt regulation. Licensing schemes, and safety stds, do indeed drive up costs unnecessarily. Dr. House really does only cost $100/HR though, as do much less competent MDs. you SHOULD see an MD if affordable.

But you're not paying $100/hr. Somehow it's getting billed at many multiples of that. A return to the country doctor scenario would be nice.
