We're trying to
the size/growth rate of the economy through
productivity (human and capital). Having a generally higher educated population also has societal benefits. To your point, I'm not sure about the optimal # of slots & there's def room for more non-university edu. -
This is kind of a non-sequitur, though? ...and to this point in particular: is there evidence that a shortage of college professors is currently leading fewer people to gain an education than otherwise would?
