If mainstream media would do THAT to a politician with a huge Twitter following who will certainly correct them on it, what wouldn't they fabricate? They just don't care about making stuff up. They have no more incentive not to. What you believe about their rules is a lie.https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1087750219788419074 …

like, every time I see the media do something impressively irresponsible I have to try to remember that everyone is now playing family-rules checkers with chess pieces & pretending that's normal

@webdevMason is correct. There is video evidence that speaks for itself. But it’s damned-if-you-do damned-if-you-don’t from a media perspective. There’s plenty of outrage at the media for *making* corrections to this story, e.g.https://twitter.com/oneunderscore__/status/1087570673168510976 …Informema added,

Thing 2 came out, was wildly, intentionally misconstrued by professional provocateurs to say that Thing 1 was a lie. Mainstream voices moved to center of Thing 1&2. More reporting showed Thing 1 was closer to the truth.Show this thread1 reply 0 retweets 1 like
yeah, there's a strong contingent that really believes that corrections/facts that cut against the "true narrative" should be kept quiet — even if they're *actually true* they don't, um reflect... the true... truth? it's all very hand-wavey, patronizing, and manipulative
