If mainstream media would do THAT to a politician with a huge Twitter following who will certainly correct them on it, what wouldn't they fabricate? They just don't care about making stuff up. They have no more incentive not to. What you believe about their rules is a lie.https://twitter.com/AOC/status/1087750219788419074 …

The scarier thing is that this has been happening for decades, but we refuse to update our understanding of media and continue to consume it as if it’s factual information. Where’s Bayes Rule when you need it?
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@webdevMason is correct. There is video evidence that speaks for itself. But it’s damned-if-you-do damned-if-you-don’t from a media perspective. There’s plenty of outrage at the media for *making* corrections to this story, e.g.https://twitter.com/oneunderscore__/status/1087570673168510976 … -
yeah, there's a strong contingent that really believes that corrections/facts that cut against the "true narrative" should be kept quiet — even if they're *actually true* they don't, um reflect... the true... truth? it's all very hand-wavey, patronizing, and manipulative
