Our industry is in desperate need of formalized apprenticeships and education certification before a brewery is issued a federal brewers permit.

The blanket statement that education isn’t necessary scares the crap out of me. Breweries are incredibly dangerous factories. They need to be run by folks who know what they’re doing.
Is there any evidence that breweries aren't currently run safely relative to other facilities with similar risks and concerns? Are there systemic safety issues that haven't been adequately managed via permitting + inspections?
