I think the person who willingly reads ~50 pages/day of books like this doesn't even see it as "challenging." They may indeed BE "challenged" (in the sense of examining their beliefs and ways of being) but internally, on a felt, emotional level, I doubt it feels "hard" at all.

For this person college would indeed feel more challenging. Not because of any intrinsic difficulty with the coursework. But literally because the artificiality and prescribed path of that environment *limits* the time they have to self-direct their journey the way you describe.

I do assume that, but in a different way. Typical college grad can, of course, read a book per week, but won’t have the interest - their curiosity is dead by then. To fix this you need to either intervene earlier, or very intensely later.
