I appreciate public transit twitter, but IMO there's a massive misunderstanding about how accessible transit is to people who've grown up exclusively within car culture. Biking in a CITY? Terrifying. Fare & schedule logistics? Indecipherable. This is not easy for a lot of people.

Oh, I wasn't thinking about buses. Yes, having cash for fares is an issue. It can also be hard to find the stop, due to nonexistent or inscrutable signs.

Still, I feel like the logistical challenges are lesser in degree than aversion due to the aforementioned unpleasantness of the experience.
