Start with the person taking out the loans, then society for thumbing their nose at trades and community colleges, demand for administrative state on campus,customer based model of edu. Bankruptcy laws... we could do this all day and people will still taking out loans...

The system in the UK is much better! A student loan is low-interest, evaporates after 30 years irrespective of whether it's been paid in full, and repayments are capped at 9% of earnings above 21k per annum. It's like every UK university is secretly
