Until recently it was standard practice to have med students perform medically unnecessary "practice" pelvic/rectal exams on unconscious patients w/o their consent. Still largely legal. Shhhh, any time anyone discusses this issue, medical students have to stay an hour later every day for a "Bedside Manner" class which has no effect except making them talk slightly more like overly polite robots.
