I wish we had higher res data on what's been happening in relationships over time. Marriage rates are SO difficult to pin with causality. Declining sex adds a little color. I really want to know the conditions under which typical relationships begin & end now, & after how long
There's much less religious pressure, and indirectly cultural pressure, to get/remain married. Only a few generations back, "shacking up" and divorce were real social stigmas, even for the non-religious.
