If someone feels more comfortable being treated in a way that doesn't come entirely naturally to you, IMO, you should probably make some efforts to support that. If you fail sometimes, you should probably not feel bad about it. They should probably not try to make you feel bad.

I'm not sure if this is just restating the above but often pronouns start to feel like a power/status game to both sides and people try to find elaborate reasons for their position rather than acknowledging the power aspect if what they are actually upset about.

Fully agree. People often try to control each other with or without any larger purpose to feel more powerful/safer. This is why any conversation about what people ought to do is more useful alongside a discussion on how they should or should not be compelled to do it

Not specifically pursuant to the trans issue discussion, but a technicality: I don't think those are sexual phenotypes you are talking about but are actual organs. organ!=phenotype but organs can have different phenotypes...

And now a comment pursuant to the trans issue: I just feel like it opens the door for creepers to enter into a woman's restroom, and be a gross individual, and they would be allowed because they felt like a woman that day.
