I don't need a good credit in order to post an opinion that criticizes government policy then worry that I can no longer board a plane because of government reaction in USA. There is a rather important difference there.

no one said they were equal. the point is that no one thinks their own country is weird. Side note: credit score and social media presence began being factored into DHS evaluations even for naturalized citizens in the US just last year.

My most unpopular opinion is that credit companies are a negative on GDP. Credit scores are marketing illusions that promote diminished value over consumption. They’re parasitic in ways that make a leech look cute.
