That's a shocking amount of reading. But then, my favored literature is 1k+ pages.
An educational product/degree program should aim to beat the basic routine “read two books per week.” In my estimation, that excludes 75-90% of higher education offerings

I was imagining something more typical — maybe 400-600 pages total per week. Still a lot of reading, but very doable with lots of time to spare

Music and other arts programs often have more activity other than reading. I can't imagine reading two books a week and nothing else is going to get you very far as a musician.
