I think devs are unfortunately incentivized to keep barriers to entry to their job market high, but the smart ones recognize that the interaction layers they manipulate to do their work don't *need* to be utterly incomprehensible to the layperson w/o tons of technical background
This is maybe in a *slightly* different key, but: I think we should acknowledge a tension between the accessibility dream & the Cult[ure] of Nerd Savvy that keeps status & salaries high.
