A typical day for me involves - lots & lots of reading - often lots of children - some dogs - some beach - anxiety around a total failure to understand what humans are supposed to eat and - starts and ends at utterly unpredictable hours based entirely on level of exhaustion

Recommend Stephan J. Guyenet's The Hungry Brain for a theory of obesity concerning hyperpalatability of modern food — Book: https://www.amazon.com/Hungry-Brain-Outsmarting-Instincts-Overeat/dp/125008119X …

It's actually pretty tough to find convenience food that's not hyperpalatable! At home, it's mostly unseasoned meats and raw veg. But if I'm looking for something at e.g. a gas station, I'm kinda at a loss unless I can find some almonds or something (peanuts don't agree with me).

I found the opposite - steady flow of mildly enjoyable food was awful for me. Much more success with "nutrient sludge or top food" approach. Nutrient sludge controls appetite, and the taste gap with top food maximizes joy and minimizes hedonic mouth treadmill
