I do. Mass media, combined with decades of underfunding education, and a massive increase in complexity of the world, means that the centralized attention of narrative trend-setters has regressed to the mean. There's a wider gulf between the "get it"s and the "get naught"s.

The present is here, and it's very unevenly distributed. Virtually anybody who plays the game to get themselves into a press box is guaranteed to be paid to do sense-making in a legacy frame, for a legacy audience.
