I've been on an essentially zero-sugar diet for about a month (since 8/7), and that's been tougher, in some ways. I don't know if I'm just developing a taste for masochism, but I just really don't want to be owned by any of these very easy and natural desires

What exactly is your major motivation for giving nicotine gum up? Is it a sort of, “I don’t want to continue doing this pattern” sort of thing, or otherwise? Nicotine gum, even abused isn’t really that unhealthy (on a scale of smoking/motorcycling)

Short-term: cost; long-term: I want to be pregnant in the next few years, and impact of nicotine aids on fetal development isn't super well-studied
