Because that’s a graduate level specialist topic. The same way you probably shouldn’t waste your time majoring in “business.” You’re supposed to learn how to think and broaden your intellectual horizons not go to trade school.
Wait... are practical skills some low-status trade school thing, or a graduate-level specialist thing? Can one not "learn how to think" in the context of building skills that are actually of direct use?
