Well my point was more that regardless of whether the parent is being helpful or over-involved the usual effect on the teacher is that it is now more difficult for them to mistreat the child. But these incongruent demands are a very real thing too.

Hmm, I think there’s a common flavor of over-involvement that enables or even pressures the teacher to mistreat the child... the sort where the parent is expecting specific outcomes & views them as the result of teaching *done to* the child
