To always try to improve myself (rationally, socially) and to maximise the well-being and minimise the suffering of others (humans, animals, future sentient beings)
This may or may not be a helpful framing, but that sounds like an excellent reason for having a goal and not a goal in itself. I'd toss that into "don't know yet" in my personal mental model.

Hmmm I see where you're coming from, but if that's not a goal then what do you call it? The thing I don't know yet is what I would call a 'plan'.
