I always wondered what the 's climatological Atlantic Hurricane Chart would look like if I replicated the visual, but instead for winter storms in North Carolina.

The first thing that'll jump out at you, esp if you're from NC, is that the climatological peak for more intense winter storms (deeper blue) are later in the winter.
February thru early March doesn't see as many storms as January, but you get a lot more bang for your buck.
