OK, I still have no idea how Microsoft Office 2016 Click-to-Run updates occur.pic.twitter.com/luYLJLR6En

I had discovered that CTR installs of Office get updates independently of Windows Update https://insights.sei.cmu.edu/cert/2017/04/the-twisty-maze-of-getting-microsoft-office-updates.html … But it appears that CTR Office perhaps also gets updates on a schedule different than Patch Tuesday? I don't have a single VM that received the patch for CVE-2018-0950pic.twitter.com/19P2vgidRZ

Please follow-up when you get the April updates, I'll compare with my installation out of curiosity.

Good idea. So far it's been over 24 hours, and they're both (Win7 + Semi-annual Channel Office 2016, and Win10 + Monthly Channel Office 2016) still saying that they're up to date. I've heard that it can take days, but it'll be good to have some independent input.

OK, 2 days late and my Win7 + Semi-annual Channel Office 2016 has received the April update upon manual checking. If I check for updates with Win10 + Monthly Channel Office 2016, it still says "You're up to date!" (But it's not)

Almost one week in, and my Win10 + Monthly Channel CtR Office 2016 install still thinks it's up to date.pic.twitter.com/m6PnGfR2Ie

Have you rebooted your machine during this period? I wonder (but doubt) if this matters. I haven't rebooted, and I've got the same picture.

I did not reboot. Upon rebooting, I *did* get Office updates offered, though. However, why should that matter? As a user, I get no indication that I needed to reboot.

Skimming through the CTR log files, there are a number of errors in the non-rebooted VM. I get the impression that the CTR software updater will say "You're up to date!" rather than telling the user that there's an error while checking for updates.

TBH, I didn't check for updates manually, but I checked now w/o rebooting and got them. I was going to ProcMon the boot process, but it's moot now. The whole thing is pretty bad, the update process is opaque and I don't think it's really documented.
