Have you seen the decrapifier script on spiceworks? Works well for me and can be modified as needed
In my testing, the spiceworks decrapifier (v2) neither removes foistware that is already installed (first screenshot with powershell open), nor does it inoculate a system to prevent a system from getting foistware in the future (second screenshot). I've only seen my gist prevent.pic.twitter.com/RGJAnCtgJG
What switches did you use? When I run it, all that stuff gets blown away. Although sometimes the start menu doesn’t get cleared for the current user profile, but does for any new user profiles going forward
I ran it with the "-allusers" flag on a clean Win10 install that had never touched the network. After connecting to the network and installing updates, the foistware (software you get without asking) was installed.
I’m running Win 10 Enterprise, not sure if that matters. Will check my notes, as well as check out your script
Enterprise has the ability to disable the foistware, so I suspect that's the difference. Win10 Home and Professional lack an official way of disabling the junk from coming in. My screenshots are from Home and Pro, not Enterprise. I suspect that's the difference we're seeing.
