I didn’t use Microsoft online account, instead, I used a local account.

Interestingly I didn’t (or haven’t) received any third-party apps, probably bc I unchecked all the privacy options? I will leave the OS there and see if I get the apps later.

I don't believe the privacy options exposed by the GUI make a difference. In my experience, you get 3rd party software installed even with maximum privacy settings.

Confirmed: 1. Install Win10 1709 2. De-select all privacy-invading options 3. Look at your start menu 4. Check for updates. Wait a little bit. 5. Look at your start menu again. Enjoy your new 3rd-party foistware! (no need to even reboot) Conclusion: Privacy settings don't matter.pic.twitter.com/3I5AMRD6pO

Solution : Registry Hack to disable CDMhttps://blog.drhack.net/disable-windows-10-app-install-without-consent/ …

No, that doesn't work for me. The only thing I've seen so far that prevents the app installs is this:https://gist.github.com/wdormann/49f1807431b0d5b5cd151337e6478f20 …

Win10 Pro and Home, 1709. The machines in question had zero network connectivity until *after* the SilentInstalledAppsEnabled registry value was set to 0 for both the current user, and also for the default user in Windows. Conclusion: SilentInstalledAppsEnabled doesn't help.pic.twitter.com/oKCvviOpVq
