No, that doesn't work for me. The only thing I've seen so far that prevents the app installs is this:https://gist.github.com/wdormann/49f1807431b0d5b5cd151337e6478f20 …

Disable Windows store and 'consumer features' via GP and reboot Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers | Remove-AppxPackage

This really winds me up. Every time I remove 3rd party apps they are reinstalled with every update. My keyboard region settings are also reversed every time my laptop comes out of sleep mode. AM moving to Linux in my home but stuck with Windows for work!!?

Ugh, can you still not ditch that ludicrous tiles UI in w10? I'm making damn sure I pick a desktop-Linux-friendly employer next time

For those stick in windows land, I recommend Classic Shell. The Win10 start menu is worthless.

IIRC the filesizes were all 16k, so maybe not truly installing 3rd party programs, but pinning links to their installers. (in other words, ads)

No, 3rd-party programs do indeed eventually get installed. Sometimes they may start out as just an icon shortcut to install it over the internet. But the bits will get there. I started looking into this when I saw a Facebook application *RUNNING* on my personal computer.pic.twitter.com/FIaR2prrqa
