I'm pretty sure that OSX has done this since Snow Leopard (2009) or possibly earlier. What is different with Sierra?

but not by default, at least for me. Though to be fair, it's been a year or two since I've had any accounts that didn't use keys.

OK, prior to Sierra, it was opt-in and obvious in Keychain Manager (pics). Now it's by default, and not clear where creds live.pic.twitter.com/kajq3Ki7ej

sorry, wasn't clear. I mean it's been a while since I didn't use vault and other orchestration managers (vs per-key passphrases)
