why is that many public PGP key servers are totally busted for months, if not for over a year? http://pgp.mit.edu , http://pgp.key-server.io and so forth. they're basically useless these days as you can hardly look up a key there.
I suspect that their utility isn't directly related to their availability? Given the pervasiveness of fake keys with fake signatures (relying on short ID collisions), I have to wonder what workflows rely on using such key servers, and to accomplish what.
