I must say, this is one of the weirdest replies I've ever seen to a bug report. It's even weirder since CERT/CC was involved, and people usually take CERT/CC seriously. https://github.com/pedrib/PoC/blob/master/advisories/IBM/ibm_drm/ibm_drm_rce.md …pic.twitter.com/h0b9rPjTUD

However, H1 has a history of closing legit vulnerabilities for no damn reason. If I remember correctly the Zoho zero-day also started after the researcher got tired of Zoho's H1 replies to bug reports.

I get the impression that some vendors are leveraging third-party bug bounty programs like @Bugcrowd or @Hacker0x01 to make vulnerability reports go away. https://twitter.com/wdormann/status/1100143339188428801 …pic.twitter.com/pbauQRyfWN

This makes me sad. I'm committed improving this impression. We are not dealing with a bounty nor a private program. Public programs (like IBM), are designed to facilitate disclosure. Mistakes happen, but they have a strong PSIRT team who I trust is already taking action here.

I don't think that facilitators are the problem. Rather, vendors often make decisions that to them hits the sweet spot of maximizing shareholder value while minimizing the effort it takes to get there. If they can take advantage of a facilitator to get there, they may.

private crowdsourcing != vulnerability disclosure. we've discussed this before (and made changes to the docs after your feedback on the last go around)
