Safari may block 3rd-party trackers on the web, but iOS doesn't allow us to control where installed apps send data

Indeed Android is no better, but if Apple is going to make a big play about privacy and protecting user data from tracking then they should be consistent ATM Apple are busily (and rightly IMV) pointing the finger at Google while allowing iOS apps to do similar things unchecked

Absolutely. Apple has no room for finger pointing. The main advice I have is to not install apps for things easily done via a web browser. (e.g. Twitter) But obviously this isn't something that the masses will adopt.

Isn’t that comparing apples and tomatoes, since they’re both sometimes-red fruit? The context of examining a single vendor’s platform and the controls (or lack) afforded by that platform vendor seem relevant?
