Hey everyone, it's Christmas Eve! I'm here to remind you to make sure you have SMB 1 disabled, otherwise Santa @NerdPyle won't give you any great presents.
OK, I'll bite: For as evil as SMBv1 apparently is, and hearing the implications that only negligent people would have it on... Why does Microsoft leave it on by default, even in Windows 10 Insider Preview builds in almost 2020?pic.twitter.com/yKIxismuo6

Ha, actually... There IS a feature enabled that just disables support for it :Dpic.twitter.com/fk076XMS0x

Well I'll file this under (mindblown), I guess? This is a Windows 10 install in a VM where nothing about SMB has ever been configured. Note that it comes with "SMB 1.0/CIFS Server" enabled by default. I don't know how to deconflict how "Automatic Removal" factors in there.pic.twitter.com/q9mrZB2cj4

I've never had SMB 1 turned on at all in any preview build

http://Aka.ms/smb1rs3 A few points: 1. We don’t, for a variety of editions. Enterprise, Ed, Server. 2. We uninstall SMB1 client if not used. 3. SMB1 server is never on 4. http://Aka.ms/stillneedssmb1 read this and think about what you’d do with this ecosystem
