There's no indication that it's unsupported.
The latest firmware is from 2014
... but it's still vulnerable to RCE issues publicly reported in 2008: https://www.securityfocus.com/bid/32275
This isn't going to be easy...
The main problem is convincing people who own old, unsupported things that still work perfectly, to buy a new thing for (to them, at least) absolutely no reason whatsoever. Forced deprecation isn't cool. I wish manufacturers would stop this.
If the operating systems these old devices were running were still being updated, that's one thing. Or if one could install the latest version, cool. But manufacturers explicitly block these devices from receiving more updates. And I draw issue with that.
