I'm joking, but effectively the mail demonstrates a worrying mentality: we have checksums, so malformed filesystems don't affect us.
It's a fine mindset in a worldview where adversaries don't exist. I'm pretty sure that doesn't apply to the world we live in, though.
Also, if pesky researchers weren't fuzzing our software we wouldn't need anti-fuzzing.
This explains why I didn't see crashes when blind-BFF-fuzzing xfs the first time around. I used the default v5 format, which uses checksums. Using checksum-free v4 results in a panic in minutes.pic.twitter.com/ST9MBx6dlY
