Sure, whether it's 'faked' or not I don't know, but chainsaw kickback occurs quite frequently among inexperienced operators and causes alot of injuries. It's why there are chain brakes and other techniques and safety mechanisms to avoid it.

How can you tell that the chain was not moving? It stops moving directly when the kick occurs due to the brake system designed to handle such events.
